Digitization costs jobs? WBE proves the opposite

Machine manufacturer digitizes the entire company within three years and creates 30% additional jobs

For more than 45 years, WBE Werkzeug- und Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG has been expanding its position as a strong partner of industrial customers throughout Europe. As a result, the portfolio has also continued to grow successively: WBE not only manufactures precision parts using milling, turning or grinding processes as well as 3D printing. The company also takes care of the further processing of the parts, develops and assembles entire assemblies.

With the change of management in 2018, the topic of digitalization was also driven forward with great commitment at the machine builder. One elementary building block was the integration of software for professional product data management: The introduction of PDM Studio laid the foundation for the complete consistency of product and project data.

After the introduction of PDM Studio, it was clear that the data should not only be managed in a decoupled system, but also transferred to the ERP system WinLine used by WBE. The connection finally created a homogeneous overall system that works system-integrated without manual data transfers, optimizes processes and eliminates sources of error.

Patrick Eikelmann, Managing Director of WBE Werkzeug- und Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. is proud of the result:

"Our positive business performance and the associated growth of our workforce led to the creation of 30% additional jobs in just two years."
