PDM Studio with NX CAD

High performance CAD meets efficient product data management

NX is certainly one of the most powerful CAD systems available on the market. Teamcenter is the PDM/PLM system from Siemens provided for this purpose. Especially for small and medium-sized companies, Teamcenter often represents a considerable challenge due to the complexity of administration and operation, the integration effort and, last but not least, the necessary investment. However, SMEs often only need a fraction of the functions to efficiently manage product data. 

PDM Studio is also directly integrated with NX. It can be used to manage components and assemblies as well as all supplementary information and documents. PDM Studio is given its own tab in NX, which can be used to call up the most important functions without having to constantly switch applications.

  • Structure of the assembly and the connection of the 3D model and the drawing.
  • Quick overview of the assemblies without having to open NX.
  • Synchronization of file properties between NX and PDM Studio.
  • Use the information to fill in the title block in NX or derive BOMs in NX.
  • Additional documents can be added to the structure or to a single document to get more overview, e.g. a PDF containing the specifications for a purchased part can be attached directly to the part.

NX parts can be created or used from PDM Studio:

  • Place in the already opened assembly or drawing
  • Create drawings
  • Replace the selected model in the assembly

The integration and introduction of PDM Studio is usually possible within a few weeks. Preparation of all data in advance is not necessary. Inventory data is transferred 1:1 from another PDM system or the folder structure and only optimized in the course of processing. It doesn't get any faster or easier than this!
